The Growing Demand in Service and AI Jobs


The nature of the workforce has undergone dramatic changes in recent years due to the pandemic and the rise of artificial intelligence, which have led to talent shortages and layoffs making the need for reskilling important for workers. People who are struggling to find work should learn new skills that allow them more opportunities in more in-demand areas of the job market. The most in-demand jobs on LinkedIn right now that have increased in demand recently include customer service representatives, salespeople, drivers, store associates and managers. These jobs require developing soft skills of communication, emotional intelligence, and problem-solving. 


The pandemic led to shortages in service industry workers as more people left in-person positions in favor of working from home, so the demand for service workers is on the rise. The demand for culinary workers such as bakers has doubled globally in the last quarter as well as the demand for junior chefs and meat cutters. Food industry workers are highly in demand as restaurants and fast food chains struggle with being consistently understaffed. 


In addition, the rise of artificial intelligence has led many workers to need reskilling in order to stay valuable for employers that could potentially use AI to complete many tasks previously done by human workers. The rise of artificial intelligence has also created more job opportunities as it has made research and development engineers and AI engineers grow rapidly in demand. It is important for employees to know where there is demand for workers so they can assess their options and opportunities for a new career path in growing fields or those in need of talent.
